In accordance with the new GDPR rules that came into force on 28 May 2018, this privacy statement describes how I collect, use and safeguard any personal information that you may provide. When I refer to personal information I mean information about you, from which your identity is apparent or can be reasonably ascertained.

Use and disclosure

I will not rent, sell or exchange to third parties the personal information that you provide to me when you book an appointment. Any information that you provide is held securely unless and until you ask me to delete it. The information is stored securely in my home and only I have access to it, if and when I need it in order to work with you, now or in the future. It is important that you know that I will keep my written notes and any other information concerning you, such as emails and text, for seven years, after which time the notes will be destroyed and computer or mobile information removed. Should you wish, you can have access to this material during the seven-year period, or request that I remove it before that time has elapsed. You have the right to complain to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) in the event that you believe there is a problem with the way I am handling and storing your data.

I do not receive, see, collect or use any information about visitors to this website. You can visit www.mariangeorgecounselling.co.uk without telling me who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. The Internet browser that you use may make use of a feature called a ‘cookie’ to assign identification to your computer. I do not use cookies to store personal data or to link personal data to non-personal data.
